About Landsborough Museum
The Museum is housed in what was the original Landsborough Shire Council Chambers, which were designed in 1924 by renowned architect Walter Carey Voller and built from local timbers supplied by A E Round.
In 1988 using funding from the Bi-centenary, the old building was revamped and a new building of mud brick construction was added. The complex was reopened on Australia Day in 1988 by J L Beausang, the last chairman of Landsborough Shire and first mayor of Caloundra City.
At a Heritage Council meeting on the 25 June 1999, it was resolved to enter the "former Landsborough Shire Council Chambers" into the Queensand Heritage Register.
The Museum is operated by a group of dedicated volunteers who help with research and provide visitor access
to the community’s collections and stories
The volunteers are involved in a range of activities including library, management, developing exhibitions, general maintenance, computer data entry, restoration and preservation

Beerburrum Soldier Settlement
By Landsborough Museum
09 May 2016We will be hosting an exhibition at the Beerburrum School of Arts on 6 November 2016 to celebrate the centenary of the founding of the Beerburrum Soldier Settlement.
This exhibition will showcase the stories of some of the soldier settlers and their families that lived around Beerburrum between 1916 to 1939.
In addition to the exhibition we will be unveiling a commemorative stone, be taking a group photo of as many people as we can locate who lived in the area between 1916 and 1939. We hope to plant a time capsule with photos of life on the settlement to be opened in 2066. There will be a concert, childrens games, a pic-nic and even the re-run of the Beerburrum Plate – a horse race originally held in 1922 in Beerburrum!
We would encourage anybody that has any sort of connection to the Beerburrum Soldier Settlement to contact us. If anybody has any photos, memorabilia or stories that they would like to share with us and the community or would be prepared to be formally interviewed to record their memories of the Settlement please contact us.
Our aim is to celebrate this Centenary by making this weekend a fun family event.
